ER Telecom and Actility sign cooperation agreement during meeting of President Macron and President Putin at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum

St Petersburg, Russia, May 25th 2018: Actility and ER Telecom have signed a further collaboration agreement to accelerate the deployment of IoT in Russia during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian Premier Vladimir Putin to the International Economic Forum in St Petersburg. The agreement, signed in the presence of Delphine Gény-Stephann, Secretary of State in the French Economic and Finance Ministry, covers the collaborative development of infrastructure and software for IoT systems for both the corporate and consumer markets. ER Telecom is the second largest and fastest-growing Russian telecom operator, already catering to the majority of Russia’s largest enterprises.

Actility CEO Olivier Hersent explains “This collaboration agreement builds on the agreement already signed at Mobile World Congress for ER Telecom to deploy a ThingPark LPWA network management solution in Russia. As well as that infrastructure, we’ll be working together to accelerate the deployment of complete IoT solutions for customers in Russia, collaborating on software, roaming solutions and compatibility with international standards for LPWA networks. We’re very proud that the value of this partnership to Russian and French industry and the two countries’ economies is being recognised in the agreement being signed in front of the two Presidents during this State visit.”

Andrey Kuzyaev, President of ER Telecom Holding, comments: “By mid-July this year, our LoRaWAN network will extend to 62 cities in Russia. We have over 10 pilot projects under way in the energy sector, mining, retail and logistics, and 2018 will see the first full commercial launches. This market is continually gaining momentum. We are probably the only company that has taken the risk of building a Federal network with complete outdoor coverage, and we expect over 20 million sensors to be connected in the next three years. Not long after that, we predict that the number of connected sensors will exceed the number of active SIM-cards.”

The extended agreement will also see ERTH capitalising on Actility’s expertise and platforms to deploy a local Marketplace for IoT devices, applications and solution packages, and provide support and tools for the local IoT developer community to accelerate their go-to-market. Actility’s ThingPark Market platform will give those manufacturers and developers access to global markets and distribution beyond Russia’s borders.
