Synopsys:

Most businesses and industries use dedicated assets to transport their goods, like containers, cages, boxes, tanks, crates, bottles, load carriers, pallets, lattice boxes and roller containers, usually valuable and reusable. The inability to track and trace returnable assets can have a financial impact on a business:

  • Not knowing where assets are located or when stakeholders will return them generates a need for excess inventory, to ensure the continuity of operations.
  • Time may be lost looking for containers or roll cages that have been stored inadequately or not collected from stakeholders which may delay or disrupt the fulfilment process
  • Money can be lost as inefficient lifecycle and process monitoring of hazardous goods or food products leads to flaws or interruptions to the cleaning and control processes.
  • Paper-based processes implies double-work to input the information gathered by the operators in the ERP, thus reducing productivity of the back office.

Our Partners SmartMakers, Zozio and Nomosense are leveraging Abeeway tracking devices and LoRaWAN connectivity using Actility’s ThingPark, and their dedicated applications to provide their clients with efficient tracking solutions for all kind of returnable assets:

Intro: How multi-technology indoor-outdoor low-power IoT geolocation revolutionized tracking of reusable assets

Abeeway & Actility deliver accurate tracking that works indoors and outdoors for industry applications like warehouse management, inter-facility goods tracking, supply chain management, and people safety and security. An asset journey combines multiple technologies to make the most precise real-time location: WiFi or BLE indoors, GPS or Low-Power GPS outdoors, or even ILoRa TDoA technique in large outdoor rural areas, where precise location is not required. Meanwhile, an unlicensed, low-cost, low-power private LoRaWAN network can easily transport the location data from any indoor and outdoor location.

How a window manufacturer achieved full transparency on the utilization of 15 % of his load carriers in just one week

Reusable transport systems must be provided in good time and in good condition. For cost reasons, their number in the cycle must be kept low, but they must also not be too low to avoid disruptions in the supply chain. An efficient organization must therefore ensure transparency of stocks, detection of the causes of misuse and shrinkage, maintenance and timely provision. Learn about how to simplify the management of reusable transport packaging with IoT from a real-life use case of a window manufacturer.

How cosmetics brands are tracking perfume tanks and optimizing flows using IoT and LoRaWAN

In a context where the cosmetics market is booming across the world, with an increasing need for more efficient management of resources, Zozio is implementing a unique tracking and tracing solution, aiming at optimizing the flow of assets and reducing costs. With Abeeway & Actility, Zozio made a successful deployment with one of the biggest French luxury brands. The brand, which name will be revealed at later stages of the project, is using the integrated Zozio-Abeeway solution to track high-end perfume tanks on production sites. Employees now have immediate access to data on the status, location and history of tank movements from the ergonomic platform.

How a large truck manufacturer tracks content boxes to optimize logistics between warehouses

Truck construction is a complex process which requires to transport pieces from different warehouse of our customer and its own supplier warehouse. NomoSense solution helps our customer to optimize logistics between each warehouse, to simplify inventory management or to stop equipment loss. Once the sensors are installed on the content box, our platform allows our customer to visualize the position and time presence of each box at national level precision. It can also calculate satistics to know the time process of a logistic rotation and can detect any shock to prevent responsibilities of each actor of the global industrial process.

For a few weeks now, we have integrated Actility’s ThingPark Exchange solution into our platform to propose LoRa roaming. This allows us to improve asset tracking solutions with better indoor precision thanks to public-private LoRa roaming or to connect the services abroad thanks to public-public LoRa roaming.
